My dream is to turn my screenplays into TV / Films and build a production company dedicated to authentic deaf representation—featuring deaf characters who use ASL in every story, whether in major roles, supporting parts, or background moments.
Born and raised in British Columbia, Canada, my journey as a writer began during my teenage years. Every day for three years, I commuted by Greyhound bus from Downtown Vancouver to Langley—a 45-minute journey each way. In a time before smartphones and tablets, I found myself daydreaming and eventually started writing stories on that bus.
A few years after graduating from high school in 1995, I became fascinated with how movies work. Through countless behind-the-scenes features on DVDs, I discovered that screenplays are the backbone of every film. So I learned the craft—studying books, doing research, and reading countless screenplays to understand the art of turning ideas into cinema.
At 28, after overcoming two bouts with cancer as a young adult, I completed my very first full-length screenplay. I participated in NYC Midnight competitions for several years to sharpen my skills, writing many short screenplays along the way.
After taking time to focus on life and finding myself again, I've returned to my passion. Now I'm writing more screenplays—with a focus on full-length features—and working toward establishing a film and video production company to bring my stories to life.
